Morning Glory Charm

Surfinia® petunias are a hybrid developed by the Japanese brewery Suntory and are renowned for their exceptional garden performance.
They are characterized by their fast growth, profuse blooming, self-cleaning flowers, and excellent weather tolerance.
These petunias thrive in full sun and require regular watering, especially during hot weather, but it's important to allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent overwatering.
Surfinia® varieties are ideal for hanging baskets, containers, and even as groundcover due to their trailing habit.

The flower in the image is a petunia, likely a Supertunia variety, such as 'Morning Glory Charm'.

Appearance:
Petunias are known for their trumpet-shaped flowers and can come in various colors, including the vibrant pink seen in the image.
Care:
They thrive in rich, well-drained soil and require regular fertilization, especially with a bloom-boosting formula (higher in phosphorus).
Maintenance:
To encourage continuous blooming, it's recommended to deadhead (remove spent blooms) regularly, although some varieties like Supertunia are self-cleaning.
Growth:
Petunias are often grown as annuals in cooler climates but can be perennial in warmer hardiness zones (10-11)

The image displays a petunia flower, likely a "Petunia Nana Compacta Royal Blue" or a similar dark purple variety, known for its vibrant trumpet-shaped blooms.

Appearance:
Petunias are characterized by their funnel-shaped flowers, which can come in various colors, including bi-colored and striped varieties. The plant has medium to fine green leaves and stems that can feel sticky and have a distinct scent.
Growing Conditions:
Petunias thrive in full sun and require regular watering, though it's important to allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent overwatering, especially in hot weather.
Symbolism:
Petunias are often associated with royalty, sophistication, and luxury.
Applications:
Trailing varieties are excellent for hanging baskets and window boxes, while mounding types work well as centerpieces in large potted arrangements or as groundcover.

Description:
Pansies are popular cultivated violets with numerous forms and striking color variations, resulting from domestication. They are often used in borders, containers, hanging baskets, and flower beds.
Edibility:
Pansy, viola, and violet flowers are edible and can be used to garnish salads, decorate cakes, or made into syrups and teas.
Growing Conditions:
Violas thrive in cool weather (40℉ to 70℉) and prefer humusy, moist, and slightly acidic soil. While they can tolerate some drought, regular watering is best for optimal blooming.
Symbolism:
Violets are often associated with modesty, humility, and spiritual wisdom, as well as faithfulness, devotion, and love.
Native Range:
The Sweet Violet (Viola odorata) is native to Europe and Asia, while other Viola species have wide native ranges across various continents.
